Still progressing, again... and a look back at my early imagery.
The Jan/Feb issue of Peak Region Cyclist features an article on the indoor trainer races hosted by Carmichael Training Systems. My photos are used both in the article and on the cover.
Over the past couple of weeks work has been relatively quiet without much shooting. Although I could easily have gone out on my own this has been welcome as a break over the holidays and allowed me time to catch up on other business stuff which is not photographic in nature. Filing taxes, networking, marketing, re-organizing my portfolio, and reading up on the nuances of both business and photo-processing have all kept me rather busy. Reading more about business has been a necessity for this psych major while learning more about photo-processing has been a useful relief after hours of reading about business.
However, the greatest concern over the past several weeks was the need to develop a new website. Over the past year and a half(ish) my previous site had served me well enough, particularly during my time in Chicago when I was not able to focus on my business, but its time had come. I had sought out critiques for my business as a whole and after getting feedback it was my website which was the most glaring weakness, followed by images used as "place-holders" because of the website design. Despite my attachment to a website I had coded on my own after only an hour tutorial on HTML, I snapped back to reality and contracted out the technical aspects to PhotoBiz. ("...looks a little amateurish" is a compliment for a first attempt at a website, but not so much for the primary face of a business.)

(In lieu of recent photo projects to show...)
Recently I scanned some of my old slides from back in high-school and early college. Although I am thankful for the improvements I have made since then, I still appreciate what I was able to capture shortly after first delving into photography.
