While I'm at it.....
Recently I have been working on a personal project to develop examples of product photography. Similar to my first go at an engagement shoot, this is my first intentional set up to photograph a single object which could be used in an advertisement for itself. Ultimately I hope these and similar images may serve as my own advertisement.
The set-up was a black fabric background with a cardboard box under a black trash bag covered in ice chips. For the first image I placed an SB800 through a grid to the right of the glasses, and a reflector on the left to bounce the light back. Above the sunglasses I placed an SB900 on a light stand with a shoot through umbrella.
The second image was a similar set-up though with the previous lights power turned down, and an additional SB900 instead of a reflector.
All of the speedlights were triggered with RadioPopper JRXs.
