City Rock: Outside again
A particularly pleasant warm spring day in Cheyenne Canyon, today City Rock climbing gym had 5 young adventurers climbing on a section of granite spire. Enthusiasm was thick, with both spirits and accomplishments high.
After winter, granite spring climbs are often peppered with debris from the natural degradation of the rock, so today I kept my work to only those areas accessible w/o rope and would thus keep the little climbers as safe as possible. There was minor scrambling and an occasional tapping on my helmet from the smaller rocks dislodged above, however with safety paramount, and a seamless experience for the students coming in second, I feel the above is a sample of the overall worthwhile result.
(Note: Due to the same priorities listed above, use of speedlights was not practical)
