Garden of the Gods sunrise
Headlamp, jacket, laptop, camera bag and monopod. A simple kit, but adequate enough to head out the door before dawn with a garden sunrise shoot beginning my Monday itinerary. No specific client, nor requisite subject, but a simple throwback to many years past when I would similarly shoot my fully manual film Nikon just for fun. Along with significantly better gear, my skill is likewise much improved and now produces gallery quality scenic art, and examples for my potential commercial locations.
Initially I had intended to shoot from my previously selected vistas, however due to the timing of cloud location, and unforeseen vegetative growth (It's been about 12 years since my last shots from favorite locations), I found myself "just winging it". After the morning light I made my way to Starbucks for a bit of image processing, and although I generally prefer to patronize local independent purveyors of coffee, there are not m(any) open at 0630.
Not as planned, but being that the plan was put together at 0415 this morning after 1.5hrs of sleep, there wasn't that much of a plan, and I'm content with the results.
Tech: All images shot w/ D700, Natural light @iso200. First two images used my f2.8 17-35mm, last two used 3.5-5.6 28-120mm
